Whitetail hunting season typically begins with archery season starting around the first of October. Visit Texas Parks & Wildlife Department regulations for current archery, muzzleloader, youth and general season dates.

Non-hunters may stay back at the Hacienda for the many activities here. With a variety of ways to hunt the 30,000 acres of Covered S Ranch, our guides will make the best recommendations for all experience levels and ages whether it is hunting from our fully enclosed rifle or archery blinds, or a spot & stalk hunt. • They have a large tail that is white underneath and when threatened the deer raise their tail like a bright white flag.
• Whitetail Deer detect scent 60 times better than humans.
• It is said that Whitetail Deer have better night vision than day vision and have a 310-degree field of vision.
• Gestation: about 5 months and will typically have one or two offspring.
