Axis Deer

Axis Deer Hunting Season:
Axis can be hunted year-round at Covered S Ranch; however, we recommend May-August to have the greatest number of hard antler bucks to choose from.

Come experience the uniqueness of Flat Top Mesa at Covered S Ranch for an exotic hunting experience like none other in Texas!

An Axis hunt at the Covered S Ranch will be a spot & stalk hunt for the bow or rifle hunter within the lower elevations of Flat Top Mesa in our 3,000-acre game preserve. These “spotted ghosts” are among the smartest and with their keen eyesight and sense of smell, may be the wariest deer you will encounter.
